How do you feel about celebrity ad campaigns? Do they work, helping you to visualize the clothes and how you’d wear them? Or would you rather see models or everyday individuals wearing the clothes? Whatever you think of the celebrity themselves, there is no doubting that having the right celebrity leading a range can increase sales ten-fold, and this year is no exception. If you’re already planning your Spring/Summer wardrobe, or you just fancy some fashion inspiration, check out these great celebrity ad campaigns that we’re loving.
1. MANGO…
Supermodel Daria Werbowy might not have much of a following outside of the fashion world, which makes her an unusual choice for celebrity ad campaigns, but it’s easy to see why she got the job when you see her smouldering photos. Daria has taken over from Miranda Kerr, who is generally more well-known, but gave the clothes a high maintenance feel. Daria goes the other way, making them seem easy and carefree, whilst keeping that rock-chick look. Love. From stripy jumpers teamed with floor-length skirts to tailored jumpsuits, this collection looks like a must-have.
2. GEMFIELDS…
Mila Kunis is no stranger to Gemfields – she’s represented the brand once before. So this time round, they needed something a little different to the glamorous, luxurious photos that graced the first campaign. Gemfields and Kunis went back to basics, with Kunis being photographed with very little makeup, and the photographs being used in stunning monochrome adverts. The only dash of colour comes from the responsibly-sourced gemstones that Gemfields sells. Genius.
3. KURT GEIGER…
Kurt Geiger is celebrating the English rose in his latest campaign, so who better to front it than Karen Elson? The supermodel looks amazing in the photographs, where she lounges elegantly in the leafy Kew Gardens. Her causal clothing ( a short pink dress and warm pink throw, if you’re wondering) look carefree yet comfortable, and the whole look is bought together by Karen’s towering heels, red clutch and flaming red hair. It’s a great way to capture the signature London vibe.
4. KAREN MILLEN…
Karen Millen has gone for a celebrity ad campaign with a difference – rather than putting celebs in front of the camera, they enlisted some A-list help behind it. Legendary photographer David Bailey and fashion stylist Katie England came together to style a range of energetic, attitude-filled images, to give the campaign a real edge. The result? Looks you can actually imagine yourself wearing.
5. UGG…
UGG have teamed up with Suki Waterhouse for their Summer 2014 promo, which features her teaming the comfortable boots with a series of high-fashion looks. My favorite look? Her combo of white skinny jeans, a white textured jumper and a navy jacket, finished with blow-dried, slightly messy hair and beige UGG boots. Win.
6. DIESEL...
Diesel are sticking to that rock-chic vibe, with Boo George shooting Daisy Lowe pulling her best rock poses. Daisy is joined by male model Aaron Vernon, with both dressed in Diesel’s signature heavy leather range, Diesel Tribute. The monochrome pictures show the pair getting steamy, adding some real emotion to the campaign. I need her leather jacket!
7. ALEXANDER MCQUEEN…
McQueen has gone for classic Kate Moss for 2014, but the shoot is anything but normal. Kate is pictured lying on a bed frame dressed in a very Xena-Warrior-Princess style leather outfit, complete with plenty of gold bangles. Her stand out accessories? Definitely that red leather bag, and those amazing shoes. While I wouldn’t recommend going for the leather-PE-teacher look, or dyeing your hair bright yellow, it’s a great campaign for highlighting the versatility of these accessories. Although the presence of mini-Kate might make this one of the strangest celebrity ad campaigns this season…
So, which of these celebrity ad campaigns is your favourite? I’m loving the creativity of some of the brands this year, and who doesn’t want to steal style inspiration from some of the world’s hottest celebrities, and most amazing personal stylists? Which campaign are you most excited about?

7 UNIQUE WAYS TO WEAR A DENIM JACKET IN THE SPRING
There are many ways to wear a denim jacket. I just purchased my first one ever, believe it or not, and am so excited about it. I started researching the best ways to wear a denim jacket in the spring months since that is what we are quickly approaching. I am so happy to share my findings with you.
1. WITH A SUNDRESS
One of the cutest ways to wear a denim jacket is with a sundress. I love sundresses and believe that they go hand-in-hand with warm weather. But sometimes I am ready to break them out before it is really warm enough. I can do that with a denim jacket to go over them. A denim jacket is also a great cover up for a dress that is strapless if you are feeling a little less than confident.2. WITH A TUNIC AND LEGGINGS
Tunics and leggings are a very popular outfit right now. You can wear so many different combinations of them. But sometimes you may just feel like the tunic and legging combo needs just a little bit more. Tossing a denim jacket on with them can complete your outfit. It also gives your outfit just a bit of a twist.3. WITH A SKIRT
Denim jackets are also great to wear with a skirt and some sort of top. I wear skirts and dresses a lot when the weather is warm and denim jackets mix so well with that look. You can wear a print top and solid skirt and add a denim jacket or vice versa with a print skirt and a solid top. This makes a nice little ensemble. Add in some well-thought out accessories and you will be dressed magazine-worthy.4. WITH KHAKIS AND A SPRING TOP
Want to wear your denim jacket to the office? There are ways that you can do that. Try it with khakis and a spring top. It is a great business casual outfit. You can dress it up or let it be as it is.5. WITH SHORTS
Want to break your shorts out but feel like you will be a little chilly if you do? Add in a denim jacket! I am not crazy about denim on denim but a denim jacket would mix nicely with solid shorts and a top. This allows you to push on over into summer clothing just a wee bit without freezing. It turns out to be a really cute combo, too.6. WITH A MAXI DRESS
I love maxi dresses. I think that they are so feminine and lovely. I love to wear them but sometimes think that they need just a bit of something more. A denim jacket can be the perfect complement to a maxi dress. It breaks up the uniform look of so much material of the same fabric.7. TO WARD OFF
And you know, I cannot forget to mention that a denim jacket is a great little layer to grab to ward off cool mornings. It is a grab and go item for those times when you just need to run a quick errand. It is a way to look fashionable even when you are just going a few minutes from home. If you are going out for longer ventures, it works for that as well. It gives you a bit of warmth when you need it without needing to continue wearing that winter coat you are so ready to pack away.(www.pleaseweightloss.com)
Now, it’s your turn. I would love to know your favorite way to wear a denim jacket. Would you please share that with me?
7 SIMPLE AND STYLISH WAYS TO REFRESH YOUR WORK WARDROBE
Work wardrobes have the tendency to become repetitive and monotonous, but there are plenty of ways to refresh your work wardrobe. A few simple changes here and there can be all you need to breathe new life into your work outfits. And there’s nothing like a fresh change to lift your mood and get you motivated again, right? Most work places have some sort of dress code in place, so certain restrictions may play a part in just how far you can take things when refreshing your work wardrobe. Unless you’re restricted by a work uniform, check out these ways to refresh your work wardrobe.
1. UPDATE YOUR ACCESSORIES
One of the easiest and most effective ways to refresh your work wardrobe is by updating your accessories. A complete wardrobe overhaul is not always feasible so updating your accessories is a great way to incorporate some on-trend pieces into your work wardrobe. Adding a statement necklace or trendy new handbag are great ways that you can instantly update your look.
2. ADD STATEMENT SHOES
In the same vein as updating your accessories, your choice of shoes can drastically alter your look. This season we’re seeing colourful and printed shoes come to the fore, and they’re great for brightening up a basic work outfit. Animal print heels and flats are great for teaming with tailored trousers and skirts, and they also have a timeless element to them. If you prefer splashes of colour, then citrus colours look great with neutral outfits.
3. JUST ADD COLOUR
We all have our go-to colour palettes and work wardrobes, generally speaking, tend to be made up of the duller end of the colour chart. If you find that your wardrobe is generally made up of black, white, and grey colours then why not brighten things up? You don’t have to go straight to neon brights, with plenty of pastel and neutral hues hitting the mark this season.
4. POP ON A CROP TOP
“Crop tops, to work?” I hear you ask. While you might have images of very inappropriate belly-baring outfits, you can make this season’s must have crop work for the office. The key is all about minimizing skin exposure and balancing out proportions with the rest of your outfit. For example, cropped sweaters are great for teaming with high-waisted midi skirts. Just make sure you pop on a shirt underneath so there’s no unexpected midriff exposure.
5. TRY NEW SILHOUETTES
When it comes to putting together outfits, we tend to stick to certain styles and silhouettes. Another way to refresh your work wardrobe is to play with new silhouettes. For example, if you usually wear full skirts and dresses, why not try this season’s must have pencil skirt or tailored trousers instead? Structured, boxy silhouettes are another popular choice this season. If you’re worried about new silhouettes not suiting your figure, it’s all about trying on a range of different styles to find what best suits you. Who knows, you might be pleasantly surprised.
6. GET EMBELLISHED
Some of your classic wardrobe staples can be instantly updated with a bit of embellishment. A classic white shirt with an embellished collar still looks polished but has that added element of glamour. Other embellished items that could work at work include embellished jackets, shoes, and bejewelled cuff bracelets.
7. REFRESH YOUR MAKEUP
Another simple way to update your look is to change up your makeup. One of my favourite ways to update an outfit is with a new coloured lipstick. While bright red might be too dramatic for the daytime, an orangey red or coral colour is perfectly on-trend this season. Alternatively, you could also play up your daytime look with a clean winged eyeliner for added intensity. Just remember to keep the rest of your makeup simple so things don’t look too over the top.

While most workplaces have dress codes, there’s always a way to try and let your personal style shine through. Updating your work wardrobe can be as simple as switching up your accessories or applying a coat of lipstick. What tips do you have for refreshing your work wardrobe?

7 AWESOME WAYS TO INTRODUCE COLOR INTO YOUR WARDROBE
Introduce color into your wardrobe for a super easy way to punch up your favorite outfits and look trendy at the same time. It doesn’t have to cost a lot to refresh your wardrobe and feel like a new person. Just a few easy steps can give new life to your clothes and gives you the chance to mix and match what you already have. Go ahead and shop for new stuff if you prefer. I would! Check out these easy ways to introduce color into your wardrobe.
1. EARRINGS
Who says you have to wear simple silver or gold earrings with every outfit? One of the easiest ways to introduce color into your wardrobe is with your jewelry. If you tend toward neutral colored outfits, such as black or grey, a great pair of brightly colored earrings can jazz things up. Try turquoise, lime green or pink with pretty much any neutral you own. Purple, orange and yellow are also great if you find your dream pair of earrings in those colors.2. A SCARF
I love wearing a great scarf with sweaters, sundresses, t-shirts and jeans. It’s a super simple way to add some personality to your outfit and introduce some color at the same time. Try a brightly hued infinity scarf with a casual outfit or a wintery type of scarf for an outdoors event. Go for a solid color or get really crazy and opt for a patterned scarf in several bright colors.3. SHOES
What could possibly look better than a great pair of red or pink shoes with a neutral pair of jeans and a plain solid-colored shirt? I’ll tell you what might look just as good. A great pair of turquoise heels or some sparkly purple flats. They punch up skirts, slacks, jeans and sweaters in a many neutral hues.4.ASTATEMENTNECKLACE
You know what I’m talking about – that long, sparkly necklace that you can’t wear without getting tons of compliments. Choosing one in a bright color can make your outfit match your personality. Layer several in a variety of shades to really add color to what you’re wearing today and any day.5. SUNGLASSES
Sunglasses don’t have to be brown or black to be functional. You can add some flair to your favorite outfits by donning a pair of purple, blue or yellow shades. They look great on your head, no matter your hair color, but they also make you look fashionable and beautiful when on your face too. If you’re stuck wearing a lot of plain clothes, add your own personal touch with sunglasses.
6. NAIL POLISH
Painting your nails is fast and easy, so it’s perfect if you want to add some color to your wardrobe. Paint them a neon pink or deep red hue if you err towards traditional looks. If you want to be a bit more daring, try purple, yellow, green or blue on your nails. If it’s summer, polish your toes too so they can lend a dash of color to your sandals or maxi dress.
7. A CAMI
If you’re reluctant to wear a bright purple or green sweater, but still want to inject some color into your outfit, try a cami underneath a neutral colored sweater. Layer any color under a black or brown sweater or sweatshirt and you’ll instantly look trendy and put together. A lace edged cami is especially wonderful.Do you like to wear bright colors? I do in small doses – so share your favorite ideas with me.(www.pleaseweightloss.com)

7 OF THE MOST GORGEOUS ICE SKATING COSTUMES OF THE SOCHI WINTER OLYMPICS
When I was a kid, family friends gave me their daughter’s old figure skating costumes for my dress-up box, starting an obsession with sparkles, and compelling me to write about the most gorgeous ice skating costumes of the Sochi Winter Olympics. These athletes can spend thousands of dollars on a single outfit, so it better have just enough sparkle and shine. And considering the international event is only once every four years (if you can earn a spot), they should have been hoping their dress was one of the most gorgeous ice skating costumes of the Sochi Winter Olympics.
1. GRACIE GOLD - TEAM USA - LADIES SHORT PROGRAM DRESS
Now out of the 7 most gorgeous ice skating costumes of the Sochi Winter Olympics, no costume truly stands out like Gracie Gold’s red short program costume. Now this girl KNOWS how to dress. Her constant use of the color red against her pale skin tone makes her look simply riveting. There’s just something about this dress that just oozes America’s sweetheart. Her simple bun, matched with (again) a red lip, is so classic she could have jumped out of an old Hollywood film. Little (and big) girls everywhere will be adorning their ice skating fantasies with that dress.
2. NIKITA KATSALAPOV & ELENA ILINYKH - TEAM RUSSIA - ICE DANCE SHORT DANCE
Ahh, the art deco style makes me smile. And rhyme apparently. The classic 1920s nod that gives me dreams of Downton Abbey, is not only relevant, but something I wish I could wear out in public (yes that headpiece might just be at my wedding). Now there’s a novel idea! Ladies outfits designed like figure skating costumes; sexy, yet flattering, and without the worry for a nip slip. As for Nikita - who doesn’t love a sexy man in a bowtie?
3. ADELINA SOTNIKOVA - TEAM RUSSIA - LADIES FREE SKATE

3. ADELINA SOTNIKOVA - TEAM RUSSIA - LADIES FREE SKATE
There’s a lot of controversy over whether she should have gone home with the gold or not, but regardless of her skating, her dress was a total gold medal win. So forward and modern with it’s sequins used in graphic lines. Now this is something I would wear. When I think if the old dress-up box filled with skating costumes, I think of this one. I would have killed to have this in there. In fact I would still kill to have something like this in my closet.
4. MERYL AND CHARLIE - TEAM USA - ICE DANCE FREE DANCE
Okay, so maybe I wouldn’t wear this one out in public. And I think I may be one of the few people who like Meryl’s dress with Charlie’s suit combo. But hear me out - the purple looks AMAZING on her skin. The drapes are flattering, with the jewels perfectly placed to catch the light. Keeping Charlie’s costume simple on the sparkle - focuses on what we all really watched the program for (admit it), Meryl’s costume. Okay... they danced pretty well too... I guess.
5. YUZURU HANYU - TEAM JAPAN -MEN’S FREE SKATE COSTUME
Thought I was going to skip the men huh? I found one! Yuzuru Hanyu’s Mens’s Free Skate costume. From far away it looked like someone had spit glitter all over his attire (I like glitter). It looked every bit of the opulence that I expect a men’s figure skating costume to be. Sure you can call that biased - but admit it, you secretly think that too. Plus extra points for including the ombre trend!
6. NELLI ZHIGANSHINA AND ALEXANDER GAZSI - TEAM GERMANY - ICE DANCE FREE DANCE
I really liked the idea of turning the performance into a little show. It’s not a new idea, but the geeky professor and sexy lady bit was pretty fun. Plus their details were really unique. I mean did you see the back of her tights? Not to mention his glasses. Which leads me to this question - how do they stay on!?
7. YUNA KIM - TEAM KOREA - LADIES SHORT PROGRAM
There’s a reason this girl is South Korea’s national sweetheart. She skates like a champion, with the heart and soul of a dancer. And her costumes accent her performance beautifully - especially her yellow short program dress (If anyone could pull that off, it’s Yuna). Yuna should totally be advertising clothing for South Korea if she isn’t already. I mean she does ads for EVERYTHING, even milk! Yup... MILK. It’ll be another four years till we see more Olympic beads and sparkles in her home country, and I for one cannot wait.
Four more years till the entire world will once again sit around their television sets to tune into a sport filled with breathtaking movement, memorable controversy, and spellbinding costumes. Sparkle never looked so good as on the ice rink at the Winter Olympics. So now it’s your turn! What was your favorite skating costume of these Winter Olympics?(www.pleaseweightloss.com)
